Not everything is machine washable. Even on vacation, without a washing machine, you sometimes have to resort to hand washing. We'll tell you how you can wash your laundry by hand in no time at all - with the bluu washing strips , which also fit in any luggage to save space.
How to hand wash correctly:
- Fill a clean container with 30 degree warm water
- Dissolve bluu wash strips in it by stirring
- Put dirty clothes inside
- Move back and forth for a maximum of five minutes
- Rinse clothing in clear water
- Squeeze, don't wring!
When is hand washing useful?
If you see this symbol on your clothing, then machine washing is not recommended. Please see below for hand washing instructions.
If the symbol is also provided with a water tap, hand washing must be carried out with cold water.
If the symbol is crossed out, then even hand washing is not okay. Then the sensitive garment belongs in the dry cleaners.
Delicate fabrics
With some fabrics, you quickly become unsure whether they really survive cleaning in the washing machine. Silk or wool clothing, for example, is very delicate. If you want to be on the safe side, wash them by hand.
No washing machine
There is often no washing machine available, especially on holiday. It's annoying when you mess up your favorite shorts on the first day of vacation.

Hand washing in 6 steps
Washing clothes by hand is not complicated and quite simple. So that nothing goes wrong, we have put together a simple guide for you.
Step 1: Find the right container
Find two suitable containers for your laundry. Depending on the amount of clothing, a bowl or a bucket will suffice. If you have to wash several or larger items, the bathtub is a good choice.
You will need the second jar for AFTER the wash to rinse the clothes.
Step 2: Choose the right detergent
The bluu wash strips work beautifully for hand washing. They can also be stowed away in your luggage to save a lot of space. Depending on the amount of washing and the degree of soiling, a tip of the washing strip is enough. The more laundry or the dirtier it is, the more washing strips you tear off.
Step 3: Fill in the water
Pour warm water into your clean, first vessel. A temperature of around 30 degrees is optimal. You need enough water to completely "submerge" the clothes but not spill over the edge.
You can now add the bluu wash strips and stir to dissolve them.
In the second container you fill clear water for later.
Step 4: Do the laundry
Now put the item of clothing to be washed in the water and move it back and forth in circular movements - either until the dirt has dissolved or for a maximum of five minutes . You can also gently knead or rub the soiled areas together. Please be especially careful with delicate fabrics!
Step 5: Rinse the laundry
Now take the clothes out of the first container and put them in the second one with the clear water. Here, too, a slight back and forth movement is sufficient. You repeat this until the water stays clear.
Step 6: Dry the clothes
You can gently squeeze the clothing to get rid of the excess water. Please never wring (this will damage the fibers and make the clothes out of shape).! After that, you hang them up or put them on a drying rack to dry them.
